Structural CAD Technician (Revit a bonus) – Birmingham NW

Birmingham NW, West Midlands based civil/structural engineering consultancy wish to hire a Structural CAD Technician to strengthen their design team.

Part of a small experienced team, you’ll work on an interesting mix of new build, refurbishment and extension projects. With this in mind, commissions can vary across construction sectors but are generally residential, commercial and public ones up to £5m. Having built-up an enviable local reputation for providing efficient value-engineered designs, this consultancy offer a friendly and relaxed work environment in new serviced offices with allocated parking.

Though revit is desirable it is by no means essential as training will be provided.

Structural CAD/Revit Technician duties:

• Use AutoCAD/Revit to prepare structural drawings and models
• Coordinate structural drawings and information throughout project lifecycle
• Attend meetings un/supervised with clients, architect and design engineers
• Answer technical queries from Main Contractor
• Ensure structural drawing quality and compliance to company practices
• Visit site to inspect/supervise construction
• Assist structural engineers and project managers as necessary

Structural CAD/Revit Technician experience:

• All round technical drawing expertise within a consultancy environment
• An excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD
• RC Detailing experience – desirable
• Experience of 3D structural modelling using Revit – desirable
