Civil Infrastructure Engineer – Birmingham

Birmingham, West Midlands based civil and structural engineering consultancy wish to appoint a Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer. £45K – £55K plus benefits and parking

Specialising in estate roads and drainage, the senior civil infrastructure engineer will join a reputable medium-sized consultancy based on the outskirts of Birmingham, West Midlands. Although the consultancy provide civil and structural engineering services covering many construction sectors, this requirement in particular is for a senior civil engineer to work mainly on housing and apartment schemes. This company offers a friendly working environment, modern offices, and off-street parking.

Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer duties:

• Run concurrent highway, drainage and external work schemes
• Delegate and supervise work of more junior team members and act as their mentor
• Design earthworks, highways, pavements and drainage systems
• Prepare designs, calculations, specifications and reports for each project phase
• Carry out 3D earthworks modelling
• Coordinate designs to ensure full integration with other engineering disciplines
• Liaise with local authorities and other stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals
• Assist during the implementation stage, including site monitoring

Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer experience:

• Demonstratable experience in the delivery of projects to time and budget
• Proven experience of producing highway and drainage designs to S38, S278, and S104
• Knowledge of Building Regulations, Manual for Streets and DMRB
• Understanding of ground modelling and cut and fill analysis
• Extensive experience of AutoCAD, Civils3D and / or MicroDrainage (WinDes) and PDS
• Awareness of flood risk assessments
• Ability to communicate at all levels with colleagues, clients and other stakeholders
