Galliford Try has landed two wins worth £85m across the first set of contracts awarded on Argent Related’s £500m Tottenham Hale regeneration.
The contractor will deliver two sections of the Argent Related masterplan: 1 Ashley Road (pictured) and 2 Ashley Road, featuring a total of 281 homes.
1 Ashley Road will feature two 12 and 18 adjoining storeys and was designed by Alison Brooks Architects. 2 Ashley Road is spread across across two adjoining 14 and 5-storey buildings, with ground-floor retail units, communal areas and landscaping.
United Living has also been appointed to build 131 council-owned homes. Spread over three and 16 storeys, the complex includes a communal garden and a health centre.
Construction started today on the first part of the Argent Related masterplan to deliver 1,030 new homes in the centre of the North London neighbourhood. The developer plans to build 15 new retail spaces, co-working and office space a cinema and two football pitches worth of public realm.
Argent Related’s head of residential Tom Goodall said “During these unprecedented times, we are pleased to be able to support the construction industry and local employment by awarding these significant contracts.”
Galliford Try’s chief executive Bill Hocking added that the contractor was delighted to have been chosen and will now be “working together to safely deliver much-needed new homes and commercial developments to stimulate and support the economy, during these challenging times”.
The project was granted planning permission by Haringey Council back in December 2018. Narrowly securing the vote by six votes to five.
The developer signed a strategic development partnership agreement with the local authority for the area in 2016.
